Now that the year is almost over, and everything is winding down, its time to think, think about what my favorite part was….. And i would have to say that my very favorite thing that we did this year was when we read and then watching the movies. i really liked that. This was my favorite part because I like to read. This might sound silly and it may sound like i am arguing with myself, but i really disliked reading the short stories… I found them hard to read…. I like to read books. I dont know if your students next year would want to take advice in this class from me, based on my current grade, but I they did i would tell them not to wait untill the last minute to do anything, get it dont asap and then talk on msn, or what ever it is kids do these days.
I’m not sure what unit i learned the most in. If i had to pick one it would have to be parables. I learned what they were, how good they were to read, how to write one and I learned they all have a moral at the end.
This class was fun, yet easy to get distracted in. You need to have a lot of self dissaplin, and you HAVE to get your stuff in on time, that is the most important thing.
Hmmm, what could Mr. Sheehy do differently?… I dont know how to answer this. Its complicated… I think that only thing he could do differently would be, vocab. I HATE hate HATE vocab. But i think that is it.

In English 11 we are reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I have been drawn to the character Atticus Finch. He is the father of Scout and Jem. I am not sure why I was drawn to his character though. He is a business man. I think that he is a caring and compassionate man. He sits with Scout every night and they read the paper together, I think that’s cute. Also I think that he is caring because one of his “clients” doesn’t have any money, and he didn’t care, he knew that the client would pay in some way, and he took it even if it was a pile of wood or some vegetables. I think he is nice… He listens to what Scout and Jem say too… I think that Atticus Finch is a strong, but he is not overpowering. From what I have read in the book so far I think that he cares a great deal about the people that are close to him, his two kids and Calpurnia. Calpurnia is the cook for the Finch’s and Atticus really liked having her around. Scout would always say that Calpurnia was picking on her or that she liked Jem more and she would tell Atticus to get rid of Calpurnia. Atticus would never think of getting rid of her though she was like family to them. Overall though, I am looking forward to reading more about all of them, especially Atticus. This book is ROCKING!!!!!! It’s a good one.

As i was looking on the internet for blog’s to read, i noticed…..it’s hard. I couldn’t really find anything worth reading. I read a blog, and the only thing that the blog said was that someone made a clay thing, and cut hearts open in biology, o yea she went to bed at three in the morning also. I think that it’s really cool that people can say all the stuff that they want to, and tell about how their day was, but I found it difficult to come across a blog that was actually worth reading to me. I know that people read their friends blogs and stuff, but i don’t really want to. I know that “worth-reading” stuff is out there….but why cant i find it? I don’t really love the fact that i can’t. I like the whole idea of blogging, I think that there should be a better way to find things you want to read about….

Well… The first thing that I want to say about the blog that Mr. Sheehy wrote is that I think he is right. A lot of the things that he said in his blog relate to the way that I read myself. I noticed that I am a “faker” and that sometimes I pretend to read, and really I am not reading at all. I read the first couple of sentences, but if those don’t catch my attention I have no motivation to read the story or book. I know that it’s something that I have to do, but I just get bored with it and confused. I do like to read though.
Now about the whole essay thing. I am not going to say that I like to write essays, but I would be lying if I said that I hated them. I like to put words together and try to make them sound good. I am not very good, however, at revising things. I am not great with grammar or punctuation or anything like that.

The double talk
In this recording I am reading a passage from the book. It was telling Lenning to go back to a spot where he had been with George. Pretty much everyone in my group agreed that this quote was really important. I think that it had some thing to do with forshaddowing maybe…

“the talk”
This is a recording of a conversation that Marshall, Christine and myself had about “Of Mice and Men”. In this recording you hear Marshall talking about how one word that he thinks of to describe this book was unexpected. Then you hear me say examples of why i thought that the book was unexpected.

O MY GOODNESS!!!! George killed Lennie? That is crazy man. I think that I am in some sort of shock right now of someting because that just blows my mind. I guess I just want to know why George shot Lennie? I hope that someone tells me….like right now. I know that Lennie would have gone to jail or been shot by someone else if they caught him, but i wonder how hard that must have been for George to do that!!!WOW. Ahh actually I am sort of mad that that happend! Uhhh what the heck?!?!?!
“Slim said ‘you hadda, george. I swear you hadda. Come with me’”-why the heck did he have to do it….
All i have to say is that i am mad as hornets!!!1
