the sky was grey and the wind was cold
March 29, 2007In English 11 we are reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I have been drawn to the character Atticus Finch. He is the father of Scout and Jem. I am not sure why I was drawn to his character though. He is a business man. I think that he is a caring and compassionate man. He sits with Scout every night and they read the paper together, I think that’s cute. Also I think that he is caring because one of his “clients” doesn’t have any money, and he didn’t care, he knew that the client would pay in some way, and he took it even if it was a pile of wood or some vegetables. I think he is nice… He listens to what Scout and Jem say too… I think that Atticus Finch is a strong, but he is not overpowering. From what I have read in the book so far I think that he cares a great deal about the people that are close to him, his two kids and Calpurnia. Calpurnia is the cook for the Finch’s and Atticus really liked having her around. Scout would always say that Calpurnia was picking on her or that she liked Jem more and she would tell Atticus to get rid of Calpurnia. Atticus would never think of getting rid of her though she was like family to them. Overall though, I am looking forward to reading more about all of them, especially Atticus. This book is ROCKING!!!!!! It’s a good one.
